Standish Announces CHAOS University Retreat for 2009

Sustaining a Healthy Project Management Ecosystem

Boston, Massachusetts, July 14, 2009 - CHAOS University Retreat will take place in Boston at the Boston Harbor Hotel on September 23, 2009. This year's event will focus on ways to sustain a healthy project management ecosystem.

The retreat will have three working sessions that highlight a PM ecosystem; individual projects, project managers and project environment including stakeholders, users and technical staff. Using the CHAOS assessment tool, participants will examine these three areas in a workshop setting. "I have attended The Standish Group's CHAOS University and participated in their workshops for over 10 years. I find these sessions to be informative and provide an excellent opportunity for networking with peers and discussing common issues, " said Bill Niemi, Vice President of Infrastructure, Fidelity Management Resources (FMR).

After each session, the participants will share the results of their individual work group and try to find common solutions. "CHAOS University is a very valuable professional development resource for me. It always has great content and excellent networking opportunities. I have a busy schedule and plan very far ahead. I always protect this professional development opportunity," said Scott McGill, Director of Administrative Information Services, Michigan State University.

Jim Johnson, chairman of The Standish Group is the keynote speaker and will start off the retreat. "Over the years, Jim Johnson has been a thoughtful advisor to me at IBM and other companies. I have attended the Standish Group's workshops and am impressed with the depth of their research and the thoughtful interaction with their audience," Ellen Hancock, former President, IBM Network Systems Group.
